Reuters – The number of new European hedge funds launched jumped nearly 15 percent in the first half of this year and hit record levels, information provider HedgeFund Intelligence said on Wednesday.
Between January and June new launches rose to 172 compared with 150 in the same period last year, but the amount of money raised fell to $11.4 billion (6.2 billion pounds) compared with $13 billion, HedgeFund Intelligence said in a statement.
