Venture Capital Seeks Shielding From Fund-Manager Tax Hike

NASDAQ – Venture capital firms are asking lawmakers to shield them from a tax increase Congress is considering on fund-manager pay-outs from successful investments.

Their argument, essentially that venture capital is more deserving of favorable tax treatment because it has a special role in driving innovation in the economy, isn’t sitting well with others that would be stung by the tax change, including private-equity firms.
