Reuters – Two former U.S. Treasury Secretaries on Thursday joined two prominent hedge fund groups, bringing their star power and global connections to one of the finance industry’s fastest-growingsegments.
Lawrence Summers, who served in the Clinton administration and this year resigned as president of Harvard University, is becoming a managing director at D.E. Shaw & Co., which manages $25 billion.
John Snow, who until recently served in the current Bush administration, will be chairman at Cerberus Capital Management [CBS.UL], a multi-strategy hedge fund group with $16.5 billion in assets.
Late on Thursday, spokesman Peter Duda said former U.S. Vice President Dan Quayle was still chairman of Cerberus Global Investments LLC, a division of Cerberus Capital Management.
