{"id":5204,"date":"2006-10-26T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2006-10-26T00:00:00","guid":{"rendered":""},"modified":"-0001-11-30T00:00:00","modified_gmt":"-0001-11-30T04:00:00","slug":"rbc-acquires-carlin-to-increase-hedge-fund-clientele","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/staging.hedgeco.net\/news\/10\/2006\/rbc-acquires-carlin-to-increase-hedge-fund-clientele.html","title":{"rendered":"RBC acquires Carlin to increase hedge fund clientele"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>  Financial News Online US &#8211; <span class=\"intro\"><span class=\"keywordsearch\">RBC Capital Markets<\/span> will acquire trading-system provider <span class=\"keywordsearch\">Carlin Financial Group<\/span>  in order to grow the investment bank\u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00e2\u201e\u00a2s reach with hedge funds.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>  <span class=\"keywordsearch\">Greg Mills<\/span>, global head of equity sales and trading for RBC, said the primary motivation behind the acquisition was to court hedge funds, with the aim of selling  them other services such as investment banking advice.<\/p>\n<p>  <span class=\"storytext\">\u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00c5\u201cIt will give us an opportunity to cover a client segment that we don\u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00e2\u201e\u00a2t presently cover in a meaningful way,\u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00c2\u009d Mills said.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>  <span class=\"storytext\">Carlin provides trading software for professional traders and hedge fund managers.
