WEST PALM BEACH, FL (HEDGECO.NET) – BAREP Asset Management has announced the launching of its latest hedge fund, the BAREP Condor Long\/Short equity fund. The new portfolio was seeded with about $100million according to a recently released statement. The managers of the new fund hopes that managed assets will ultimately grow to about $300 million. According to the report, the Condor long\/shortequity portfolio will be incubated for about six months, as investors are being courted.<\/p>\n
The new strategy is also targeting institutional investors; hence the fund will employ low levels of volatility in trading according to the released statements. Fee structure and minimum investment were not immediately provided.<\/p>\n
The new portfolio will be devoted primarily to large-cap issues, to be comprised of mostly European stocks according to the report. The fund is to be managed by Oliver Rufflet, a veteran hedge fund manager, specializing in European equities, his track record spans over a 15 year period.<\/p>\n
Barep creates, manages and distributes financial investment vehicles for authorized investors. The firm has developed innovative risk management systems overseeing over 5.36 billion euros for third parties; with the objective of optimizing the portfolio regardless of market conditions, according to BAREP statements.<\/p>\n
Some of its managed portfolios include; Managed Futures, Emerging Market Debt, Multi Manager products, Arbitrage transactions (interest rates, global macro, equity), Weather & Insurance Derivatives, and Money Market.<\/p>\n
